Acer Ferrari One

Acer Ferrari One

  • AMD Athlon X2 dual core L310 1.2Ghz processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 500GB hard disk
  • ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200 graphics card
  • 11.6-inch high-definition CineCrystal LED-backlit TFT LCD display

The cherry-red shiny exterior of the Ferrari One screams for attention, but it is not a distraction from anything lacking in the technical department.

An independent graphics card means you can use this for gaming. It returns a score of 722 on the 3DMark06 benchmark test. Given that this model is technically a netbook, the numbers are decent. The Resident Evil 5 benchmark test gives it a lower C rating.

Alas, while Acer took care in crafting the red top, it neglected the underbelly, so users are left with an irregular design filled with exhaust vents and exposed screws, alongside bumps and indentations.

Connectivity ports are located on the side, with a red outline circling the power switch, which is located above the keyboard.

One annoying feature is the multitouch pad. A small flick of the forefinger means you could be hitting the space bar by accident.
